At Smoky Ridge Pottery, I create handmade pottery in my home studio, using stoneware and porcelain to craft functional and artistic pieces.
About Smoky Ridge Pottery
I began pottery at my local community college in the late 90's. I took classes for about 5 years, and even bought a wheel and kiln for my home.
Then I switched gears, changed jobs, etc. and my studio became a catch-all.
About 2 years ago, I decided to get back into pottery. So I took classes again, rejoined my local guild and started creating like crazy. I'm still looking for my niche. There's so much to explore with pottery, which makes it so much fun!
I recently changed the name of this site from Prairie Ridge Pottery to Smoky Ridge Pottery due to a move to Western North Carolina, and the new name fits my locale much better!
